ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
The revised ISO 14001:2026 was published on 15 April 2026, replacing ISO 14001:2015. The revised standard includes enhanced requirements relating to climate change, environmental resilience, sustainability and strategic environmental management.
In accordance with the transition arrangements established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the applicable Accreditation Body, ISO 14001:2015 certificates shall continue to remain valid during the prescribed transition period, allowing certified organizations sufficient time to migrate to ISO 14001:2026.
HYM is committed to supporting certified organizations through awareness programmes, transition planning and transition audits to facilitate a smooth migration to the revised standard.
ISO 21001 – Educational Organizations Management Systems
The revised ISO 21001:2025 has been published, introducing improvements relating to digital learning, learner engagement, accessibility, inclusiveness, educational effectiveness and performance evaluation.
Organizations currently certified to ISO 21001:2018 may continue to maintain certification during the approved transition period while preparing for migration to ISO 21001:2025.
HYM will provide timely guidance, awareness sessions and transition audit services to assist certified educational organizations in implementing the revised requirements.
ISO 50001 – Energy Management Systems
ISO 50001:2018 continues to remain the current applicable international standard for Energy Management Systems.HYM continuously monitors developments relating to ISO 50001 and will communicate any future revisions or transition requirements to certified organizations as and when published by ISO and the applicable Accreditation Body.
Transition to Revised Standards
Following publication of revised management system standards, HYM shall:
Review and incorporate revised certification requirements into its management system.
Update certification procedures, forms and certification documentation. Upgrade the competence of auditors, technical experts and certification decision makers.
Conduct awareness programmes for certified organizations. Establish transition arrangements in accordance with IAF and Accreditation Body requirements.
Plan and conduct transition audits within the prescribed transition period. Maintain regular communication with certified organizations regarding transition requirements and implementation timelines.
Certified organizations will be informed well in advance regarding applicable transition requirements, transition schedules and certification arrangements to ensure a smooth and timely migration to the revised standards.
